Our Resume
Our Owner & Company

Eco-Pest is a family-owned, independent pest control company offering the highest quality pest control services with experience in termite and pest control dating back into the 1980's. Our office is located in Hailey, Idaho, in the beautiful Wood River Valley.
Jeff Ledford, owner of Eco-Pest, started his career in pest control back in 1989 in Wichita, Kansas, when he went to work for a friend's family owned pest control business. Then, in 1994, he opened his own pest control business. Over the years, through many ideas, trials, and changes, the business grew into Eco-Pest. That business was sold when Jeff and his wife, Gail, moved from Wichita, Kansas to Sun Valley, Idaho. After a brief time working for the Sun Valley Resort, Jeff decided to once again open Eco-Pest.
During the mid 1990's, the company was contracted to service a school district with a unique problem - one of their students had been diagnosed with health problems that were related to pesticide exposure. Not wanting to cause any harm, Jeff worked with the district to document pesticides used and then to develop a plan that would enable the schools to get pest control service, but he had to make sure that service would not harm the student. That situation led to many months of study and training, and it prepared us to move in a "green" direction before "green" pest control was even starting to catch on.
Over the years, we've tested many different products, and we noticed a growing movement in botanical products. Not being afraid to try something new, we began using the EcoSmart line of professional products. As time passed, more and more products have become available, and just recently, a pest control product manufacturer called Whitmire Micro-Gen developed and released a line of natural products called Mother Earth. Now, Eco-Pest offers both conventional pest control services and "green" services that use botanical and inorganic products. We have also added animal tapping & clean-up to our services.
Jeff has been interviewed and published in Pest Control Technology magazine on several occasions. He has attended numerous training seminars, and in the process has been trained by noted industry professionals such as Austin Frishman (AMF Pest Management) , Paul Hardy (Orkin), Philip Koehler (University of Florida), Jeff Tucker (Whitmire Micro-Gen) and Gail Getty (University of California), along with many others. He has also successfully completed many training courses offered by Univar USA (a large pest control product supplier), and continues to keep up with state required training to maintain his pest control license.
