Common Sense Termite Control Solutions
It's amazing that insects as small as a grain of rice can cause so much damage. The National Pest Management Association estimates that the damage they do is close to $5 billion annually!

For years the way subterranean termites were controlled was to pump hundreds of gallons of liquid termite control solution into the soil under and around a home's foundation. Countless structures have been "poisoned" because the chemical was not applied properly. That's not eco-friendly.

In the 1990's a new kind of termite control product became available - termite bait. The idea is to put stations in the ground around a house. Since the termites live underground, they will find the stations as they forage for cellulose food. Then, we can feed a small amount of toxicant into the colony and kill them off. That is eco-friendly.

Eco-Pest uses the Advance Termite Bait System to control subterranean termites. We have used the Advance system for many years, and it has proven to be extremely effective in finding and controlling termite colonies. Termites will find the stations, and they aggressively begin to feed in them. Once feeding is established in the station, we add the Termite Bait Cartridge which contains a very attractive food source treated with an insect growth regulator. Since it only kills the termites when they molt, they have plenty of time to feed it to other members of the colony, resulting in a population "crash", and control. If termites are actively attacking the home, we can also do an application of a liquid termite control product to stop that activity, and then let the bait system do the rest.

Advance Termite Bait Stations (TBS) are placed into the soil around the home at about 8 to 12 foot intervals. Depending on the weather, they are inspected on a quarterly basis.
